Evdokia is a multidisciplinary artist working across choreography, scenography, and costume design. Based in Greece and active internationally, she blends her background in dance performance with an evolving visual practice—exploring the relationship between body, space, and materiality.
Her artistic journey began in dance, with training in ballet, contemporary, and competitive ballroom. After earning a BA in Dance Studies from the Isadora & Raymond Duncan Centre in Athens, she worked professionally as a performer, dance teacher, and costume designer.
In 2001, she moved to the UK to deepen her interdisciplinary practice. She completed an MA in Physical Theatre (Theory and Practice) at the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway University of London (2002, with Merit), followed by an MA in Scenography for Dance—specializing in costume, set, and lighting design—at Laban, City University of London (2004). In 2005, she was shortlisted for the Linbury Biennial Prize for Stage Design, one of the UK's most prestigious design awards.
Since 2004, her work has been presented at major festivals and venues in Greece, Cyprus, the UK, Austria, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Puerto Rico, and beyond. For five years, she collaborated with Futures Theatre Company in London, and for more than a decade she designed costumes for Bird College.
In 2011, she served as technical coordinator for the Spider International Artistic Project at the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation. From 2012–2019, she led the scenographic design of a postdoctoral research project exploring the influence of Laban and Aristotle on contemporary theatre, in collaboration with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the Cacoyiannis Foundation.
Since 2005, she has maintained a long-term creative partnership with British artist and researcher Ben Judd, working as both choreographer and designer across installation and performance projects.
Recent highlights include work for the Greek Nation School of Dance, the Greek National Opera, the National Theatre of Greece, and the Athens & Epidaurus Festival.
Today, Evdokia continues to work as a freelance designer, choreographer, and dance educator, both in Greece and abroad. Her ongoing research focuses on transformable costumes and scenographic structures and lighting design that respond to movement—creating adaptive environments where visual design and embodied performance converge.
